The purpose of this paper is to study the stationary Vlasov-Poisson system in the gravitational case. The main theorem is a matrix formula for the induced one-parameter family of steady states. Several similar systems, like the Einstein-Vlasov system, which induces spherically symmetric steady states, are studied. The spiral structure of the mass-radius diagram for the King model and related models is crucial for the investigations. For the asymptotic expansions, a small parameter \(\epsilon\) is used to prove similar theorems. The proofs use the Arzela-Ascoli theorem and the Schauder fixed point theorem.
