Let \([a,b] \subset \mathbb R\) be a compact interval and let \(x_j = a + jh\) \((j=0,\dots, n)\) with \(h =(b-a)/n\) be equidistant knots. The authors consider the following problem of integro spline interpolation: For given integral values \(I_j\) of a function \(y: [a,b] \to \mathbb R\) on \([x_j,x_{j+1}]\) \((j=0,\dots,n-1)\) and given values \(y_k = y(x_k)\) \((k=0,\,1,\,n-1,\,n)\) construct a quartic spline \(s: [a,b] \to \mathbb R\) so that \[ \int_{x_j}^{x_{j+1}} s(x) \, dx = I_j \quad (j=0,\dots,n-1) \] and \(s(x_k) = y_k\) \((k=0,\,1,\,n-1,\,n)\). The coefficients of \(s\) with respect to a quartic B-spline basis are obtained as unique solution of a linear system with 5-band coefficient matrix. For \(y \in C^{\infty}[a,\,b]\), the interpolation error is estimated by \(\|y^{(k)} - s^{(k)}\|_{\infty} = {\mathcal O}(h^{5-k})\) \((k=0,\,1,\,2,\,3)\). Numerical examples are presented, too.
