In this article the authors continue their studies on the classification of simple linearly compact \(n\)-Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0 [Commun. Math. Phys. 298, No. 3, 833--853 (2010; Zbl 1232.17008); Int. Math. Res. Not. 2010, No. 17, 3341--3393 (2010; Zbl 1269.17002)]. After a presentation of the basic notions and of many examples of algebraic \(N=6\) 3-algebras, \textit{J. Palmkvist}'s construction [J. Phys. A, Math. Theor. 43, No. 1, Article ID 015205, 15 p. (2010; Zbl 1180.81116)] which associates to an algebraic \(N=6\) 3-algebra with zero center a \(\mathcal Z\)-graded Lie superalgebra is given. The main result of the paper is Theorem 1.10, which determines a complete list of simple linearly compact \(N=6\) 3-algebras over an algebraic closed field of characteristic 0 in the finite and infinite-dimensional cases. Finally, the \(N=5\) 3 algebras are defined and exemplified.
