A study of the fundamental solutions of axisymmetric Helmholtz-type equations is presented. Fundamental solutions are obtained for six axisymmetric problems utilizing physical considerations, and a general form is obtained for this type of equations. Another general form is derived from mathematical aspects using Fourier and Hankel transforms. Infinite integrals of the mathematical fundamental solutions are evaluated. The boundary element method is also utilized and, after this formulation, properties of the general forms are discussed theoretically and numerically. The general forms are applicable also to other axisymmetric problems whose fundamental solutions are not obtained apparently.
