Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for acyclic matrices, i.e. matrices whose graph does not contain a cycle, to be D-stable, i.e. DA has all eigenvalues in the right half plane for every positive diagonal matrix D. This result generalizes recent results on the D-stability of tridiagonal matrices.
