The primary aim of this paper is to deal with systems which are realistic and relevant in physical situations. Stimulated especially by the studies of the Lorenz flow, the author establishes statistical properties of systems with a rather low regularity. In particular, suspension semiflows (which contain the Lorenz semiflow) are examined by means of functional analytic techniques. In this way, the Laplace transform of the correlation function is shown to admit a meromorphic extension to a strip about the imaginary axis.
