The proof of \textit{M. Artin}'s approximation theorem [Invent. Math. 5, 277--291 (1968; Zbl 0172.05301)] on convergent power series \(k\{x\}\), \(x=(x_1,\ldots,x_n)\) over a complete valued field \(k\) was modified by \textit{A. Ploski} [Bull. Acad. Pol. Sci., Sér. Sci. Math. Astron. Phys. 22, 1107--1109 (1974; Zbl 0302.32002)] in a nice way, which in fact showed (as M. Artin noticed) that the formal power series ring \(k[[x]]\) is a filtered inductive limit of smooth \(k\{x\}\)-algebras of finite type (not necessarily subalgebras of \(k[[x]]\) as it happens in case \(n=1\) when Neron's desingularization applies. The present paper shows a similar result in the frame of the so called Weierstrass system of \(k\)-algebras, extending in particular Ploski's result in the case when \(k\) is a field of positive characteristic such that \(k\{x\}\) is excellent.
