The authors perform large-eddy simulation of full incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in a parallelepipedic domain. The filtered structure function model is used for this purpose. Several runs are performed by applying different system shapes and different numbers of collocation points in three directions. The isovorticity surfaces and time evolution of vortices are presented, and it is obtained that longer domains and time sampling are required to be conclusive about vortex growth rates. The authors find a strange interaction between streamwise vortices of different origins in a transonic industrial application, and propose a tentative explanation of this phenomenon in terms of pairings between mixing-layer and Dean-Görtler streamwise vortices.
