In this paper, it is shown that there exist infinitely many solitary waves for the nonlinear Klein-Gordon or Schrödinger equation of \[ \Delta u - u + u^3 = 0 \] in \(\mathbb R^2\), which have finite energy, but whose maximal group of symmetry reduces to the identity.
