The paper deals with a characterization of Bosbach states on bounded residuated \(l\)-monoids, which are also known as integral GBL-algebras. The authors in fact generalize their results from [``Probabilistic averaging in bounded commutative residuated \(l\)-monoids'', Discrete Math. 306, No.~13, 1317--1326 (2006; Zbl 1105.06011); reviewed below] to the non-commutative case. The paper contains three main results. The first is the interesting structural fact that whenever a bounded residuated \(l\)-monoid \(\mathbf{A}\) has a maximal normal filter \(F\) then the quotient algebra \(\mathbf{A}/F\) must already be a linearly ordered MV-algebra. Then the authors show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between extremal states and state-morphisms. The last result shows that the set of all extremal states forms a compact Hausdorff topological space with respect to the weak topology of states, and this space is homeomorphic to the space of all maximal filters endowed with the hull-kernel topology.
