Three-level implicit difference schemes of \(O(k^{4} + k^{2}h^{2} + h^{4})\), where \(k\) and \(h\) are grid sizes in time and space, respectively, are proposed for the numerical solution of one, two, and three nonlinear wave equations in polar coordinates. The authors discuss also a fourth-order approximation at the first time level for a more general case. The stability range of a difference scheme is obtained for a test equation.
