The well-known definition of a \(C^r\)-function, \(r>0\), on an open subset of a non-Archimedean field, is based on the use of iterated divided differences and the Hölder condition; see [\textit{W. H. Schikhof}, Ultrametric calculus. An introduction to \(p\)-adic analysis. Cambridge etc.: Cambridge University Press (1984; Zbl 0553.26006)]. For high orders of differentiation, the iterated divided differences are very cumbersome. The author suggests, also for functions of several variables, a definition in terms of the Taylor formula and proves its equivalence with the above one. Some other definitions were proposed for functions on a ring of integers in papers on \(p\)-adic group representations; see [\textit{L. Berger} and \textit{C. 13--59 (2010; Zbl 1223.11144); \textit{M. De Ieso}, Indag. Math., New Ser. 24, No. 3, 530--556 (2013; Zbl 1288.46044)]. It is shown in the paper under review that these definitions are essentially equivalent to the one given here.
