A solution of the time dependent Schrödinger equation with electric potential is considered. For energies in the absolutely continuous spectrum a regularity and decay inequality is shown. This generalizes the smoothing behaviour of the free problem [\textit{T. Kato}, \textit{K. Yajima}, Rev. Math. Phys. 1, No. 4, 481-496 (1989); \textit{M. Ben-Artzi} and \textit{S. Klainerman}, J. Anal. Math. (to appear)].
