Let \(I \subseteq R = k[x_ 0, \dots, x_ n]\) be the ideal of \(s\) points in \(\mathbb{P}^ n (k)\), \(k\) a field. For a sufficiently generic position of these points conjectures have been made about the minimum values of the minimal number of generators of \(I\) and of the Cohen-Macaulay type of the homogeneous coordinate ring \(R/I\) of the points -- and also about the existence of points in generic position reaching those conjectured values. The author states here a minimal resolution conjecture with explicitly stated conjectured values of the Betti numbers. This conjecture implies both the ideal generation conjecture and the Cohen-Macaulay type conjecture (see \S2, p.14). Some positive answers for the minimal resolution conjecture are given in section 3. Moreover the author proves the Cohen-Macaulay type conjecture for \(s\) points if \(n + 1 \leq s \leq {n + 2 \choose n}\) (see proposition 3.5 and theorem 3.6).
