Let \(X\) be a Banach space. By using Laplace transforms of functions in \(L^1_{\text{loc}} ([0, \infty]: X)\), the authors introduce Abel- convergent and Cesàro-convergent functions \(f(t)\) of the above class as \(t\to \infty\). As in the case of Tauberian theorems in summability, the convergence of functions \(f(t)\) as \(t\to \infty\) implies the above convergence but the convergence implications are true only with additional conditions. In this paper, the authors first weaken the condition of boundedness which ensures Cesàro convergence from Abel convergence by a condition on the Laplace transform of \(f(t)\). With the help of these, the authors study the ergodic \(C_0\) semi-groups and the asymptotic behaviour of the solution of the inhomogeneous Cauchy problem with periodic inhomogeneity.
