In this paper the authors discuss some topological spaces defined by \( \mathcal I \)-convergence, where \( \mathcal I\subseteq 2^{\mathbb N} \) is an ideal. A sequence \( \{x_n:n\in\mathbb N\} \) in a topological space \( X \) is said to be \( \mathcal I \)-convergent to a point \( x\in X \), provided for any neighbourhood \( U \) of \( x \) one has \( A_U=\{n\in\mathbb N:x_n\notin U\}\in \mathcal I \). They find necessary and sufficient conditions under which \( \mathcal I \)-convergence coincides with the usual convergence and statistical convergence. They introduce the concepts of \( \mathcal I \)-open set, \( \mathcal I \)-closed set and \( \mathcal I \)-sequential space. They discuss various properties of \( \mathcal I \)-sequential spaces. They study \( \mathcal I \)-continuous mappings and discuss the relations among continuous, \( \mathcal I \)-continuous and sequential continuous mappings. They also prove various results when \( \mathcal I \) is a maximal ideal. They introduce \( \mathcal I \)-quotient maps and study various properties. The authors conclude the paper with a detailed discussion on \( \mathcal I \)-Fréchet-Urysohn spaces.
