    In this paper the concept of a linear neighborhood assignment is introduced. It is shown that every Lindelöf space is a linear \(D\)-space, and every generalized ordered space is dually discrete, which gives a positive answer to a question posed by Buzyakova, Tkachuk and Wilson.
