For a bounded domain \(D\subset\mathbb C^n\) let \(c_D\), \(b_D\), \(k_D\), and \(l_D\) denote, respectively, the Carathéodory distance, the Bergman distance, the Kobayashi distance, and the Lempert function on \(D\). In the paper under review the author proves the following results: 1. If \(D\) is strongly pseudoconvex, then the difference \(l_D-c_D\) is bounded on \(D\times D\). 2. If \(D\) is \(\mathcal C^{2+\varepsilon}\)-smooth strongly pseudoconvex, then the difference \(l_D-b_D/\sqrt{n+1}\) is bounded on \(D\times D\). 3. If \(D\) is strongly pseudoconvex, then \[ \lim_{w\neq z\to\partial D}\frac{c_D(z,w)}{l_D(z,w)}=1,\quad \lim_{w\neq z\to\partial D}\frac{b_D(z,w)}{k_D(z,w)}=\sqrt{n+1} \] uniformly in \(w\in D\). Note that the above result is a generalization of \textit{S.~Venturini's} result from [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 107, No. 3, 725--730 (1989; Zbl 0692.32013)].
