A fractional version of the Clifford-Fourier transform (CFT) is introduced depending on two numerical parameters. The formulation leads to a 2-parameter multivariate Mehler type formula. An integral transform form is derived for the fractional CFT along with a series expansion for its kernel in terms of Bessel functions and Gegenbauer polynomials. Analytic properties of the new integral transform are derived: an inversion theorem is obtained, and it is shown that the kernel satisfies a system of partial differential equations. As background the paper includes some basic knowledge of Clifford analysis and gives the explicit kernel of the CFT as derived by the first author and \textit{Y. Xu} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2011, No. 22, 5123--5163 (2011; Zbl 1237.30018)].
