The author investigates the composite trapezoidal rule for the regularization of weakly singular Volterra integral equations of the first kind with perturbed given right-hand sides with applications for the stable solution of inverse problems by using a spline-collocation method based on the paper of \textit{P. P. B. Eggermont} [J. Integral Equations 3, 317--332 (1981; Zbl 0469.65093)].
