The authors present an \(H^{2}\) convergence of a second-order convex-splitting, finite difference scheme for the three-dimensional Cahn-Hillard equation. They first define a scheme and present the unique solvability and discrete stability analysis of the proposed numerical scheme. Later they present the primary results, namely convergence analysis for the scheme presented. Some 3D numerical results are presented. A proof of the discrete version of some standard Sobolev embedding and elliptic regularity results for periodic grid functions are given.
