The paper is concerned with the error analysis for the finite element solution of the two-dimensional exterior Neumann boundary value problem in acoustics. The authors make some contributions to the error analysis for the derivation of Dirichlet-to-Neumann mapping in the coupling of finite element method and separation of variables technique.
