Let \(E\) be a directed graph, and let \(C^*(E)\) be its universal \(C^*\)-algebra. There are certain moves on graphs which allow to obtain new graphs from a given one. One of such moves is called Cuntz splicing. It is shown that, if the graph \(E'\) is obtained from \(E\) by a Cuntz splicing, then the \(C^*\)-algebras \(C^*(E)\) and \(C^*(E')\) are strongly Morita equivalent.
