Let \(d \geq 2\), and denote \(\Pi^d_n\) the space of polynomials in \(d\) variables of degree at most \(n\). Let \(\mu\) be a positive measure on \(\mathbb{R}^d\) with compact support such that \(\{x \in \mathbb{R}^d: \mu'(x) > 0\}\) has non-empty interior. This ensures that \(\int P^2 d\mu >0\) for every non-trivial polynomial \(P\). Let \(K_n(\mu,x,y)\) denote the reproducing kernel for \(\mu\) and \(\Pi^d_n\), so that for all \(P \in \Pi^d_n\), and for all \(x \in \mathbb{R}^d\), \[ P(x) = \int K_n(\mu,x,y) P(y) d\mu(y). \] The \(n\)th Christoffel function for \(\mu\) is \[ \lambda_n(\mu,x) = \frac{1}{K_n(\mu,x,x)}. \] They establish asymptotics for Christoffel functions, and universality limits, associated with multivariate orthogonal polynomials, on the boundary of the unit ball in \(\mathbb{R}^d\).
