This book treats a very broad selection of impulsive boundary value problems on compact intervals with the main goal of presenting existence principles. Despite its title, the book considers both fixed-time impulsive boundary value problems and state-dependent impulsive boundary value problems. Indeed, the book is organized in two parts. Part I consists of Chapters 2--5 and is devoted to the fixed-time case. Part II consists of Chapters 6--10 and deals with the state-dependent case. Additionally, there is a first chapter, where a nice state-of-the-art of the theory of impulsive boundary value problems for ODEs is presented. In some sense, the book could be considered as a review of recent work by the authors since the main results in each chapter were previously published elsewhere by them. In Part I, chapter 2 offers existence results for a second order problem with nonlinear boundary conditions based on upper and lower solutions technique. Chapter 3 and 4 deal Dirichlet problems with singularities in time and state variable, respectively. Last chapter of this part is devoted to systems of differential equations with general linear boundary conditions. In Part II, Chapter 6 considers a Dirichlet boundary value problem with just one impulse condition to present how the problem can be transformed into a fixed point problem of an appropriate operator. This approach is extended to more impulses in Chapter 7, Sturm-Liouville conditions in Chapter 8, higher order equations in Chapter 9, and systems of equations in Chapter 10.
