A Petrov-Galerkin scheme with non-uniform mesh for a set of nonlinear equations without any monotonicity is developed. The authors introduce the new concept of an ordered pair of supersolution and subsolution for the resulting problem and study the existence of numerical solutions. They also construct a monotone iteration with geometric convergence rate for solving the resulting problem, by using the local extreme values. Some numerical tests are presented.
