On the basis of [\textit{P. Hahnfeldt} et al., Cancer Res. 59(19), 4770--4775 (1999)] and [\textit{A.~d'Onofrio} and \textit{A.~Gandolfi}, Math. Biosci. 191, No. 2, 159--184 (2004; Zbl 1050.92039)], the authors formulate a family of modes with two delays describing the process of angiogenesis. Then they investigate the effect of the delays on the dynamic behavior of the disease. They prove that the delay in the vessels dynamics implies that subcritical Hopf bifurcation occurs for a wide range of the parameters. This paper improves the results of the papers mentioned above.
