The authors consider a fluid flow through a semi-infinite cylinder containing a porous material. The flow is described by either Brinkman or Darcy system. For appropriate homogeneous initial and boundary conditions on the lateral surface of the cylinder, the authors investigate the Saint-Venant type decay of solutions (as the distance from the finite end of the cylinder tends to infinity).
