This paper demonstrates the mutually benefical relationship that exists between combinatorics and matrix theory, such as digraphs in the spectral theory of matrices, use of matrix theory in solving combinatorial problems, the incidence matrix, eigenvalue techniques in graph theory, qualitative and structural theory of linear systems. The author calls the fruits of this mutually beneficial relationship combinatorial matrix theory.
