For generalized three-body quantum systems with long-range interactions asymptotic completeness is studied. The basic Hamiltonian is the Schrödinger operator with a potential of the form \(\sum_{a\in{\mathcal F}} V^a(x^a)\). \({\mathcal F}\) is a finite family of subspaces. The pair potentials \(V^a\) are assumed to be smooth real-valued functions satisfying \[ \partial^\beta_{x^a} V^a(x^a)= O(| x^a|^{-\mu-|\beta|}). \] Enss and Derezinski proved it for \(\mu> \sqrt{3}-1\). Gerard proved it for \(\mu\in ({1\over 2}, \sqrt{3}- 1]\) assuming spherical symmetry and a global virial condition. Wang proved it for \(\mu\in [{1\over 2}, \sqrt{3}- 1]\) and for pair potentials being positive at infinity. Yafaev gave counterexamples for any \(\mu\in (0,{1\over 2})\). In the present paper the central additional assumption for the spherical symmetric \(V^a\) is \[ V^a(x^a)\leq -c| x|^{-\mu}, \] for \(c>0\), \(| x^a|\geq R> 0\). Asymptotic completeness is proved for \(\mu\in({1\over 2}, \sqrt{3}- 1]\) without a virial condition and for negative upper bounds at infinity. The proof uses weak propagation estimates. For \(\mu\in(0,{1\over 2})\) a structure theorem provides a basis for the asymptotic completeness in this regime.
