Starting from some results proved by the author in a previous paper [J. Differ. Equations 120, No. 1, 46-88 (1995; Zbl 0844.35028)], here he studies the symmetry of positive solutions of the Lane-Emden equation \[ \Delta u+ u^p= 0,\quad \text{in } \mathbb{R}^n,\quad p> 1,\quad n> 2 \] which satisfy some slow decay estimates. In the proof, a local Harnack inequality at infinity is used.
