Let \(R\) be a complete discrete valuation domain with quotient field \(K\) and finite residue class field, and let \(A\) be a central simple \(K\)- algebra. For a hereditary \(R\)-order \(\Lambda\) in \(A\) such that \(\Lambda/ \text{Rad } \Lambda\) is a product of fields, the author shows first that \(\Lambda\) is a Frobenius algebra over \(R\). Therefore, \(\Lambda\) admits a complete cohomology ring \(\widehat {H}^* (\Lambda) = \coprod_{r \in \mathbb{Z}} \widehat {H}^r (\Lambda, \Lambda)\) with respect to the cup product [\textit{T. Nakayama}, Osaka Math. J. 9, 165-187 (1957; Zbl 0101.02601) and \textit{K. Sanada}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 80, No. 1, 65-88, 89-106 (1992; Zbl 0808.16013 and Zbl 0808.16014)]. The author exhibits an element of \(\widehat {H}^2 (\Lambda, \Lambda)\) which is invertible in \(\widehat {H}^* (\Lambda)\), whence \(\Lambda\) has periodic cohomology of period two.
