An \(\imath\)quantum group \(U^\imath\), introduced by Bao-Wang, is a variant of Drinfeld-Jimbo's quantum group \(U = U(\mathfrak{g})\) in the sense that \((U, U^\imath)\) forms a quantum symmetric pair due to Letzter-Kolb. Although \(U^\imath\) has many parallel theories to the quantum groups such as the canonical bases, it remains open to obtain a classification of finite dimensional irreducibles. The major difficulty is the lack of Cartan subalgebras for \(U^\imath\). A workaround solution is provided in this paper for certain cases. The author introduced the notion of classical weight modules over such \(\imath\)quantum groups, and then obtained a classification theorem for the finite-dimenisonal irreducible classical weight modules. Note that here the (\(\imath\))quantum groups are over the field \(\mathbb{C}(q)\) of rational functions. The author introduced a hyperalgebra \(\mathcal{U}^\imath \supsetneq U^\imath\) so that the study of all classical weight modules over \(U^\imath\) can be reduced to studying the module category of \(\mathcal{U}^\imath\), in which a root space decomposition can be explicitly described, which leads to Conjecture 3.3.3 that there exists a triangular decomposition for \(\mathcal{U}^\imath\) with a non-commutative zero part. The author has verified the conjecture in several cases, including \(\mathfrak{g} = \mathfrak{sl}_n\). As an upshot, the classification theorem is obtained for these cases. In other words, a unified approach was obtained for (part of) the classification theorems for \((\mathfrak{sl}_{2n}, \mathfrak{sp}_{2n})\) due to Molev; for \((\mathfrak{gl}_{n}, \mathfrak{so}_{n})\) due to Iorgov, Wenzl; for \((\mathfrak{sl}_{2n+1}, \mathfrak{s}(\mathfrak{gl}_{n}\oplus\mathfrak{gl}_{n+1}))\) due to the author. On top of these, the classificaiton theorem for \((\mathfrak{sl}_{2n}, \mathfrak{s}(\mathfrak{gl}_{n}\oplus\mathfrak{gl}_{n}))\) is new.
