This work explores three computational algorithms for solving computational problems related to the modeling of interface motion in multiphase systems in the sense of proving their convergence. The conceptual idea is based on the interpretation of the Merriman-Bence-Oscher approach, which considers the mean-curvature-based time discretization as a scheme minimizing movements. The algorithms, for which their convergence is proven, are related to the volume-preserving mean-curvature flow, mean-curvature flow with external force, and a threshold algorithm for the simulation of grain growth in polycrystals.
