This book deals with the physics of matter under extremely large densities, pressures and temperatures. It is mainly experimentally oriented with applications in nuclear fusion and high energy astrophysics. It contains not really mathematics, has only few formulas, but many pictures of experiments, and tables with their technical details. The topics covered contain detonations, electric explosion waves, dense laser beams, electron and ion beams, hypersonic entry of spacecraft into the dense atmospheres of planets, matter transformation after the big bang and many others.
