In the paper under review, the author presents a general construction of naturally reductive spaces. This construction is based on the notion of infinitesimal model of a homogeneous space. The main result of the paper (Theorem 7) gives a method to construct a new infinitesimal model of a naturally reductive space from a given one in terms of some special extension. Then the author applies the Nomizu construction [\textit{K. Nomizu}, Amer. J. Math., 76, 33--65 (1954; Zbl 0059.15805)] for the obtained infinitesimal models to describe explicitly a transitive group of isometries and the naturally reductive structure with respect to the corresponding group action. It should be noted that many naturally reductive spaces obtained by this procedure are not normal homogeneous.
