In Aequationes Math. 55, No. 3, 273-280 (1998; Zbl 0922.26005)] the author offered several inequalities equivalent to the convexity of a continuous derivative function on a real interval. Here, essentially by use of Taylor remainders, he calculates ``error terms'' (differences of the two sides) in these inequalities and applies them to lower and upper asymptotic expansions of solutions of functional equations of the form \(f(x+1)-f(x)=g(x),\) in particular to gamma functions.
