    Let \(C^\bot= \{ x \in \mathbb{F}_q^n : \sum x_i y_i = 0, \forall y \in C\}\) be the Euclidean dual code of a linear code \(C \subset \mathbb{F}_q^n\). One says that \(C\) is (Euclidean) self-dual if \(C = C^\bot\). For \(q = p^2\), let \(C^{\bot h}= \{ x \in \mathbb{F}_q^n : \sum x_i y_i^p = 0, \forall y \in C\}\) be the Hermitian dual code of \(C \subset \mathbb{F}_q^n\). One says that \(C\) is Hermitian self-dual if \(C = C^{\bot h}\). This article constructs maximum distance separable (MDS) Euclidean and Hermitian self-dual codes which are extended cyclic duadic codes or negacyclic codes. Moreover, using these constructions the author provides new MDS self-dual codes. This article also considers Euclidean self-dual codes which are extended negacyclic codes. The constructions are compared to previous constructions in the literature.
