This paper is concerned with numerical approximation of solutions to surface partial differential equations of parabolic type, coupled to surface evolution. Three main velocity laws are discussed: (1) elliptic regularization of a direct pointwise coupling; (2) a regularized mean curvature flow; (3) a dynamic velocity law. In such a setting, the authors derive a novel stability and convergence analysis. The stability analysis is developed without any use of geometric arguments. Numerical experiments on specific problems are also presented.
