The main goal of this article is to provide a boundedness result for principal \(G\)-bundles on a normal projective variety \(X\) defined over a field \(k\) of arbitrary characteristic. Let us fix the notations: \(X\) denotes a projective normal variety defined over a field \(k\), and \(G\) a connected reductive group scheme over \(k\). A \(G\)-bundle over \(X\) is a rational principal \(G\)-bundle over \(X\), i.e. a principal \(G\)-bundle over some open subset \(U \subset X\), such that \(X \setminus U\) is of codimension at least two. The main result is theorem 0.1 which gives the boundedness result for all \(G\)-bundles with given (resp. bounded) numerical invariants. This result extends the results of A.~Ramanathan to positive characteristic and the results of K.~Behrend to arbitrary dimension. The proof is partially based on their approaches and on the author's proof of the boundedness of semistable sheaves in arbitrary characteristc. This means the asymptotic strong Harder-Narasimhan filtration and its properties form the crucial ingredient in the proof.
