The authors perform a standard bifurcation study of an elliptic system that arises in cubic autocatalitic reactions. The linear stability of uniform solutions is analysed theoretically and numerically. The existence of nonuniform smooth steady solutions of the system is also proven and complex spatial bifurcated patterns are then computed numerically.
