After the classification of the complete, locally strongly convex affine sphere has been finished, it is a natural goal to investigate hypersurfaces of constant equiaffine mean curvature H. - This paper gives new results on compact hypersurfaces with boundary and constant H. Typical is the following theorem: Let F be a locally strongly convex, compact hypersurface with boundary in real affine space, dim F\(=n\geq 2\). Assume \(H=const\) and the following conditions to be fulfilled at the boundary: (i) The Pick invariant vanishes. (ii) The boundary is a shadow boundary with respect to parallel light. Then F is a half ellipsoid, i.e. the boundary lies in a plane through the center of this ellipsoid. - Main tool for the proofs are new integral formulas and the Schrödinger-type equation for the conormal field (the affine support function, resp.).
