This paper discusses a new method for reducing numerical dispersion in two-phase black-oil reservoir simulation. The authors use a standard black-oil PVT model and introduce a new sequential formulation of the equations which allow a new splitting for an IMPES type of discretization. The component conservation equations are discretized using a Godunov procedure. Numerical results for some 1-D problems are presented.
