This paper deals with classic non-Archimedean spaces and a generalization to topological categories. A non-Archimedean space is a pair \((X, P)\) where \(X\) is a set and \(P\) is a non-empty set of partitions of \(X\) which is closed under refinement of partition. A function \(f\), from \((X, P)\) to \((Y, Q)\), is called uniformly continuous if \(Q\) is mapped to \(P\) by \(f\)-inverse image. Such spaces and maps define a topological category, NA. The observation that the set of morphisms from an object of NA to discrete spaces is initial forms the basis for extending the NA concept to topological categories in general. If \(C\) is a topological category let NAC be the full subcategory of \(C\) determined by those objects of \(C\) which have the induced structure from families of maps into discrete objects. The main result of the paper is that there exists a concrete full coreflective embedding of NAC into NA. Consequences of this result are then considered for several examples including topological spaces, closure spaces, uniform nearness and pre-nearness spaces, affine sets, and pseudometric spaces.
