The paper considers GI/GI/\(s\) queues operating under FIFO service discipline. It investigates necessary and sufficient conditions of finiteness of delay moments when the service time has finite first moment but infinite moment of a higher order. The paper gives an alternative derivation of results obtained earlier by the first author. Both upper bounds that serve as sufficient conditions, and lower bounds, that serve as necessary conditions, are presented.
