In this paper, which forms a part of the author's PhD thesis, the author gives a necessary and sufficient condition for the representability of a function as the classical multidimensional Laplace transform, when the support of the representing measure is contained in some generalized semi-algebraic set. The corresponding multidimensional moment problem is treated by using a method of [\textit{M.\,Putinar} and \textit{F.--H.\thinspace Vasilescu}, Ann.\ Math.\ (2) 149, No.\,3, 1087--1107 (1999; Zbl 0939.44003)].
