The authors investigate the infinite system of ordinary differential equations \[ \begin{cases}\frac{d a_j}{dt}(t)=\lambda^j a_{j-1}^2(t)-\lambda^{j+1}a_j(t)a_{j+1}(t)\\ \quad\quad\quad +\beta\left(\lambda^ja_{j-1}(t)a_j(t)-\lambda^{j+1}a_{j+1}^2(t)\right)-\lambda^{2\gamma j}a_j(t),\,\,\,j\geq 0,\end{cases}\leqno(1) \] with the boundary condition \(a_{-1}(t)\equiv 0\), where \(\beta\geq 0\), \(\gamma>0\) and \(\lambda=2\). For every \(s>1/3\) and \(\gamma<1/3\), they show that there exists a value \(\beta_{s,\gamma}>0\) such that for every \(\beta\in [0,\beta_{s,\gamma})\) there exists a class of initial data for which the corresponding solutions of \((1)\) blow-up in finite time in \(H^s\)-norm. Some previous blow-up results for various related dyadic models are obtained as corollaries.
