Suppose that \(p(z) = (z-a)\prod_{k=1}^{n-1}(z-z_k)\), where \(0 \leq a \leq 1\) and \(|z_k|\leq 1\) for \(1 \leq k \leq n-1\). The Sendov conjecture is said to hold with respect to \(a\), (briefly (SCa) holds), if there is at least one zero of \(p'(z)\) in \(|z-a|\leq 1\). The author determines a number of restrictions on the other zeros \(z_k\) of \(p(z)\) which will insure that (SCa) holds. As in the previous paper (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 199, No. 3, 754-768 (1996; Zbl 0853.30004)), the results depend on using the transformation \(w = 1/(a-z)\). For example Theorem 3 states that if \(a\) is the largest root in modulus then (SCa) holds for all \(n\), while if \(a\) is the second largest root in modulus then (SCa) holds for \(n \leq 18\).
