Let \(\overline{pp}(n)\) be the number of overpartition pairs, \(b_k(n)\) the number of overpartition \(k\)-tuples of \(n\). The author proves that for all positive integers \(n\), \[ \overline{pp}(n)\equiv \begin{cases} 4\pmod {8},&\text{if }n=m^2\text{ or }n=2m^2,m\in{\mathbb Z} \\ 0\pmod{8},&\text{otherwise}. \end{cases} \] For almost all positive integers \(n\), \[ \overline{pp}(n)\equiv 0\pmod {2^8}. \] For fixed positive integers \(j\) and \(k\), \[ b_{2k}(n)\equiv 0\pmod {2^j}, \] for almost all positive integers \(n\).
