A concept of pipelines for interactive statistical graphics is discussed. The pipelines encapsulate transformation and standardization functions which are applied to the raw data to prepare the plot. Each such function (the pipeline stage) must be reversible to allow flexible interactivity with the use of methods like brushing or selection. The architecture of pipelines which allow interactions with many plots is considered. Implementation of these functions in the GGobi statistical software is discussed.
